The 2013 Coventry Fun Run presentation night took place at the St Marys Guild Hall on the 3rd October 2013. This year the event raised a grand total of £50,783.06 for local Coventry charities.
Trevor Binch. Managing Director of Merrick Binch estate agents is the chief organiser of the Coventry Fun Run for 2012 and 2013. He comments:
‘I started organising the event all the way back in December last year. It is almost like organising a mini London Marathon. You have to deal with the local council to sort road closures, set a business plan and promote the event so you get as many runners entering as possible. It was incredibly hard work and took about a total of 3 months out of my business to get the event up and running. However, when the 2500 runners set off on the 3.5 mile run, it was all worthwhile. The most rewarding part is the presentation night. This year we handed out over 45 cheques for local Coventry charities totalling over £50,000.
Charities benefiting from the Coventry Fun Run include Baby Lifeline, Myton Hospice, and the Coventry branch of the RSPCA. In addition to organising the Coventry Fun Run, Merrick Binch estate agents were also the Gold sponsors of this year’s event.
